USASA is proud to present the Southeastern Series, which will bring back competitive skiing and snowboarding to the High Country after a 14 year hiatus! The first event on Saturday, January 7th and is a slopestyle ski/snowboard competition for all ages that will take place in Beech Mountain Resort’s new terrain park complete with handle pull town (this means you don’t have to hike the course). Slope style competition consists of a mix of jumps, hips, rails, boxes, & other features. Skiers and riders are scored by a panel of judges and factors considered are difficulty of trick, execution (clean landings, etc.), style, & more. Dust off your bag of tricks & join us for a fun day in the park!

When? Saturday, January 7th *ALL DAY*

Where? Beech Mountain Resort’s “The Park”

Time? Registration will be from 8am – 10am in The Lodge at Beech (building that contains the cafeteria)

Course warm-ups will be from 10:00am – 11:15, contest starts at noon with TWO runs per skier/rider. Awards will follow in the lodge after all riders have had their two competition runs & scoring is complete (4-5pm)

Who can compete? Youngest category is 7 & under, oldest is 70 & up! Come one, come all! If you love hitting jumps & rails then come test your skills!

How much? The overseeing body, USASA, charges $100 for an annual membership. Each individual event is $35 per competitor.

Sounds rad! What else do I need to know?

*All competitors* who compete in a USASA sanctioned event must be current members of the USASA.  Memberships are available online (recommended) or at the event. For a complete list of official USASA rules or to purchase a membership, visit USASA’s website.

Helmets are required as this is a slopestyle event. Slopestyle means skiiers and riders will be hitting a variety of jumps, rails, & other features.

This is the very first USASA Southeastern Series event of this year and in Southeastern’s history. Please arrive ready to be positive, ski or snowboard with old & new friends, & be patient as we all work together to figure out the very best way to host this new event at Beech Mountain! Yes, this is a competition but first and foremost we want to have fun skiing and snowboarding and promote a positive environment in which all ages can learn and grow the snowsports we all love!
