Two beautiful lakes offer some of the most beautiful scenery and best recreational opportunities on Beech Mountain.

Buckeye Lake

Buckeye Lake is the centerpiece of the town’s recreational facilities. The area includes a softball field, playground for the kids, and is the trail head for several of Beech Mountain’s hiking and biking trails.

Coffey Lake

A scenic 1/8-mile course wraps around the lake and is perfect for both walking and jogging. A parking area is available with direct access to the trail. This area also has a basketball court.

Watauga Lake

A short drive (30 minutes) to boating, boat rental, trout and bass fishing.
