Beech Mountain is situated in the highlands of Western North Carolina, within a day’s drive of anywhere in the Eastern United States. We’re easily accessible from either I-26, I-81 or I-40, just 20 miles from Boone and less than 5 miles from Banner Elk.

Directions to Beech Mountain

From the Greensboro/Winston-Salem Area

Take US 421 N to Boone. Turn left onto NC 105. Follow 105 for 15 miles and then turn right onto NC 184. Follow NC 184 to Banner Elk and then turn left onto NC 194/184. NC 184 will veer to the right and become South Beech Mountain Parkway. Follow NC 184/Beech Mountain Parkway into Town.

From the Charlotte Area

Take I-85 S towards Gastonia. Take Exit 17, and turn left onto US 321 N. Follow US 321 to Boone. In Boone, turn left onto NC 105. Follow 105 for 15 miles and then turn right onto NC 184. Follow NC 184 to Banner Elk and then turn left onto NC 194/184. NC 184 will veer to the right and become South Beech Mountain Parkway. Follow NC 184/Beech Mountain Parkway into Town.

From the Johnson City, TN area

Travel on I-26 toward Asheville. Take exit 31 and merge onto US-321 N toward Elizabethton/Milligan College. Stay on US-321 to Elizabethton. Turn right at traffic light at US-321 and G Street. Turn right at the next light onto TN-361/Gap Creek Rd. Stay on Gap Creek Rd. until it intersects with US-19E S. Turn right onto US-19E S/TN-37 S/Veterans Memorial Pkwy. Continue on US-19E S for 17 miles. Turn left onto NC-194/Banner Elk Hwy. Continue on NC-194 for 6.5 miles. Turn left onto NC-184/Beech Mountain Parkway. Stay on this road to the Town of Beech Mountain.
