For adventure-seekers and scenery-admirers, Beech Mountain’s 20 miles of hiking trails offer a glimpse of the mountain’s true beauty, taking you through old-growth forest, over an old logging road, and beside a railroad grade that once carried the logs harvested on Beech Mountain
Take an easy stroll through the woods with your family, or if you really want a challenge, make the eight-mile trek through a thousand feet of elevation change. You’ll see wildlife, waterfalls, picturesque lakes, and scenic vistas that showcase the breathtaking beauty of western North Carolina.
Beech also offers guided hikes though out the year, and twice monthly in the summer along each of the mountain’s ten marked trails—ranging in difficulty from easy to strenuous. There’s also a paved, handicap-accessible trail around Lake Coffey.
